From the beginning of time… man has sought out and even prayed to mythical gods for a multitude of things; the world’s riches (Plutus), love (Aphrodite), wisdom (Athena) and music (Apollo). Today, man is no less fickle than he was then. With technological advancements shortening our attention span we as a people have lost sight of what a real entertainment is. In 2010 we find Nolte as an innovator and as a purveyor of creativity; but during the years of 700 BCE, Nolte would have been a titan.
In a world where lyrical content has given way to a clever dance and a catchy chorus, some within the hip hop community have deemed this culture dead. Laughter & fun have fallen victim to the allure of drugs and violence. Some people have assimilated. Others have positioned themselves at the front of a hip hop revolution. One particular person has championed the re-birth of hip hop music. That champion is “Nolte”. Known affectionately around the California Bay Area as “The Homey Nolte”, he has pioneered a resurgence of live hip hop music!
More than an MC, much more than a promoter and galaxies beyond an event coordinator, Nolte is an impresario. He performs every function in the opera that is Hip Hop. He is what the Hip Hop society needs. Nolte is a consummate professional. He is an abundance of energy. He is a source of amusement. With witty and thought provoking content, Nolte IS Hip Hop.
Performing live with the likes of Devin the Dude, The Beatnuts, Lauryn Hill, Ozomatli, Guru, Black Sheep and more, Nolte has been a man amongst gods for 11 summers. During this time he found his way on to various radio stations and even landed himself on to MTV’s Direct Effect in 2004. He started a non profit charity series named “Friends with Benefits”. He also partnered with “Mic Danja” to start a showcase series named “Booze Em Buddiez” and a talent contest series named “The Who Does Music Competition?” In addition to that, he assisted in pushing the fashion agenda with Spicey Promotions at a multitude of fashion shows throughout California. He made his mark by releasing 3 albums under Majesty Records, one of which found him and label mate “Gillatine” nominated for “Group of the Year” at the Bay Area Rap Scene Awards in 2006. After attacking the show circuit for 2 years (2008 & 2009), Nolte performed a total of 104 live performances, averaging 1 show a week. Finally; after shedding blood, sweat and years, Nolte has become international. You can find glimpses of his greatness in Russia, Barbados, Nigeria, Sweden and the Philippines.
From mere man to mythological prowess, from rubble to the great coliseum of Rome, from earning respect to becoming legend, Nolte is the epitome of the phrase “If you build it… they will come.” Zeus bore a son named Hercules… and if Hercules could rap… his name would be… NOLTE
